The Elements of Healing Anxiety: A Holistic Approach

Oftentimes healing is thought in relation to the human mind and neglects the other vital parts of growth. Spirituality can be understood as a connection with the self, others, nature, and/or a higher power. Defining spirituality and valued practices that align with the individual are key to growth. Practices might include mindfulness, meditation, yoga, journaling, rituals, and religiously based experiences. 


Acknowledging challenges in the environment and identifying barriers to growth creates a clearer path towards wholeness. Environmental factors to consider are home and work environments, geographical environment, and systemic environments.


Expanding one’s knowledge base, undergoing training or advancement in careers, and increasing consciousness are all ways to support intellectual growth.


One’s financial condition greatly impacts their ability to meet basic needs, access resources, and sustain a balanced well-being. Researching non-profit organizations, local groups and communities, or free resources through state supported programs can provide a sense of security in how one manages their financials.
